A Night of Burlesque with Evana De Lune
AdelaideFringeShowReview
As we stepped into the Vault at Fool’s Paradise I understood we were about to attend a burlesque show; however, we were not prepared for what we ended up witnessing. The 75-minute performance took us to another dimension with its showcase of abundant sultry, fierce and feminine energy exuding raging empowerment. Through an integration of both traditional and neo-burlesque styles, their seductively mesmerising outfits kept them cinched to the gods as our eye remained safely attached to the stage. Ultimately, this show left us contemplating long after whether we wanted to be them or be with them.

We were swiftly guided through the shows entireity by the witty and charming ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’ Tito Bonito. The first performer to grace the stage was producer Evana De Lune herself setting the stage with an essence of sophisticated seduction. The dedication to her craft is clear, but her elegance and skill seem effortless. The ferocious array of performers on the night included Jessabelle Thunder who was named Miss Exotic World 2025, Cierra Bliss, Yvette Santos, Roxie Bordeaux and Full Cream Kitty, all glorious and mesmerising in their unique ways. Basjia’s performance was a standout due to the level of intensity. She not only graced the stage, but rather dominated it as she whipped her long hair and contorted her impeccable form. Truly a sight to see as, each performer harnessed a wide range of uniqueness everyone is sure to find alluring.
A personal highlight was local star Lily LaRoy. When I say I haven’t been more enamoured by a local artist, I truly mean it. It is no secret we have such incredible artists here in Adelaide, many who are unseen by mainstream media, however witnessing such an encouraging woman so comfortable in her sexuality and femininity is truly an inspiration to me, as for all women no matter the age. Seductive and sultry, her black and red corset was a standout piece (pictured below). Unbelievably gorgeous, fully bedazzled, and enchantingly hypnotic as it proudly shimmered through the darkness and spotlight. She looks just like a pin-up you would see upon the pages of a 1940s magazine, like a pulp artwork brought to life.

This show seduces you into an escape from the current climate of the world it invites you into a different dimension where glitz, glamour and seductive wit are at the forefront. Every minute is a wild ride with countless exotic sights we were lucky enough to behold.
You too can enter this feminine land of fantasy until doors close on March 22. You wouldn’t want to miss this exclusive museum of sensuality; a little sweet, a little dangerous, and truly a treat to behold!

After the show we got to speak to star Lily LaRoy; summing her energy up into a succint sentence is challenging so instead I'll provide some adjectives. Inspiring, empowering, and a glowing sexy ray of sunshine.
