Who are we?

youth led ♡ focus on local arts, culture and style ♡ supporting sustainable initiatives

We are a group of aspiring young creatives who are dedicated to crafting art about fashion, lifestyle, and culture on Kaurna land. We aim to represent and embolden the local Adelaide arts scene through vibrant photoshoots, local business spotlights, features from emerging writers, and dynamic social design. We strive to be your go-to platform for showcasing all cultural and personal perspectives, converging as a third space for everyone with a passion for fashion and a voice aching to be heard.

Devoted to sustainability in our creation, Fresher aims to bring back the joy and passion in artistry, and empower the local youth scene as young people navigate a work-centric, capitalistic world.

Meet the Executive Team

Amber Lomax

they/she

The redhead obsessed with jewellery, sewing, and macabre poetry.

Despite working primarily in fashion retail, they devote themselves helplessly to literature. From reading it, to writing it. Words are her first and greatest love. They liken their own work to brutality, a desire to startle and transfix the reader with delicately woven lines of harsh truths.

She is constantly found at thrift stores for lace vests, chunky f*ck-off boots, old rock CDs and rings that’ll turn their skin green. At their core, she is a maximalist trying to bring back the art of muchness.

Driven primarily by a love for community, they are deeply passionate about supporting art in various forms. From drag, to slam, to paint, to bands. Without art, without the freedom to express ourselves, we lose what makes us human.

Editor-In-Chief

Elaine Goh

she/any

The creative magical girl existing at the intersection of liminal spaces, magical shoujo anime, and colour-coded Excel spreadsheets.

Her fashion instincts pull from the artistry of Alexander McQueen, Ann Demeulemeester, Shushu/Tong, and Vivienne Westwood - chic and refined, yet loud and unapologetic.

You can find her on the ground mid-shoot, limbs tangled, chasing the exact angle she has visually set in her head. Moodboards multiply faster than finished projects, each one a new world she’s itching to build. In between you can find her halfway through a three-hour video essay on video games, pop culture, or emerging herself in RuPaul’s Drag Race.

At the core her practice showcases her humanist attitude dedicated to celebrating human contradictions, excesses, their grotesque nature, and deeply earnest beauty.

Creative Director

Chloe Nicole Crispin

she/her

a.k.a Chantilly Lace, your resident vamp and renaissance painting.

She withholds a deep fascination for romantic gothic styles, vintage influences (especially the 60s!) and spiritual philosophies. She has a sharp eye and a sharp winged liner to compliment it. Drawing from cinematographic influences, often sourced from an array of references emphasising messages inside her work – the campier the better, however.

She is currently studying Politics & Media at Adelaide University & works as a graphic designer and social media girly at FM2U Clothing. In the meantime, she produces her own writing, various other artistic and whimsy pursuits and can often be found appreciating the local music scene.

Above all, her work is guided by her intersectional feminism; A deep belief in a better future for youth, the planet, and artists alike.

Rameen Sheraz

Features Director

she/her

The freshest editor and prideful curator of one too many hyper-specific Pinterest boards.

With a wardrobe filled with distinctive thrift finds and inherited pieces, she is on a constant mission to emulate the chic ease of Alexa Chung and Orion Carloto - yet through these inspirations is finding her own kind of Je ne sais quoi.

In her free time she can be found behind the fabric counter at Spotlight, on the hunt for postcards for her already overflowing junk journal, or paging through yet another Eve Babitz biography.

She is currently undertaking a degree in Journalism at Adelaide University. She upholds her core philosophy upon the idea that art is always political. This belief is what she strives to make shine through in all the work she eloquently crafts.
